I have recovered from disk backups and also from the gzipped backups that
the backup script generates. I have heard about the Informix position about
not supporting recovery from anything other than tape, but I am not sure on
this one. Can any of Informix's employees or others corraborate or refute
this?
Fortunately I have never had to call in Informix for recovery, but it would
be good to know in any case.
