A Bug or a Feature?
Posted in 1995
Howdy,
We have just upgraded our se databases from 4 isql tools and 5 se engine to 6
isql tools 7 se engine. We are encountering a problem. When a DBPATH is set
to include several databases in separate directories, for example:
DBPATH=/db/cdm/mgt:/db/cdm/bptall forms and reports found in the DBPATH show up on your selection list when
you try to run a form or report in ISQL after a database is selected. If a
database was selected, the older version would only display forms or reports
in the local directory as well as those in the database directory of the
current database - but not those found in other database directories listed
in the DBPATH. This can cause problems if you have the same names for
reports and forms for different databases (which we do). It also clutters up
your screen when you go and select a form or report to run. Our solution so
far is to make sure that the DBPATH is set to one database at a time. This
is a real pain when you have users who work with many databases during the
day.
Any ideas on work arounds? Is this a bug or is it suppose to be this way.
Informix tech support is not sure yet.
FYI, specifically we are running 6.01UD1 isql tools and 7.10UC1 se engine on
Solaris 2.4
Thanks for your help.
