Hi all, In my continuing 908 saga for my Linux IDS2000 server, I've found (thanks Martyn) that the port I've configured for tcp is refusing connections from other clients (though on-machine connections are working). telnet <portno> fails with a "Connection Refused" error from any client machine Does anyone know what I should be looking at to allow connections on this port (is there any config option for tcp/ip or linux or anything else that's causing this?) Thanks Fuzzy :-)
Check you firewall configuration. May bee this port is blocked by firewall? You can to do this with command 'ipchains -L'. Good luck. Sergey. Try telnet <machine ip having IDS>. U dont have to specify the port in the client savio Fuzzy <granta@nospam.student.canberra.edu.au> wrote in message news:39f4bb88.1901464@newshost.interact.net.au... > Hi all, > > In my continuing 908 saga for my Linux IDS2000 server, I've found > (thanks Martyn) that the port I've configured for tcp is refusing > connections from other clients (though on-machine connections are > working). telnet <portno> fails with a "Connection Refused" error > from any client machine > > Does anyone know what I should be looking at to allow connections on > this port (is there any config option for tcp/ip or linux or anything > else that's causing this?) > > Thanks > Fuzzy > :-) >
