Accessing New Era DLLs from external sources.

(This time I hope this message makes it to the intended address: informix-list@rmy.emory.edu.) I have New Era Version 2.00.WC1 & Microsoft Visual C++ Version 1.5. I am trying to place New Era functions in DLLs and access there functions from C programs. I can succesfully access functions which do not instantiate New Era objects from C code. ( I am aware of the New Era <-> C calling conventions ). As soon as a function instantiates a New Era object, and I am calling the function from C code, my program will hang. (eg: an ixSQLConnect object - both CCL/INFORMIX & CCL/ODBC <as if it might make a difference>). The same function, called from New Era, will work properly. Even if I write a C function to call the original function, and call this function from New Era (ie: NewEra->C->NewEra), it will work. This leads me to believe that, in some way or other, New Era objects or perhaps the 'NEW' keyword, require other implicit objects created by New Era. Is there any one who has successfully managed to achieve what I have described? Or anyone who has a suggestion of how I could over come my problem? Many thanks, CAS
