ONTAPE Restore to Different Instance - Same Host

IDS Friends,
I am attempting to perform an ontape restore from one instance on a server to
another identical instance I created on the same server. The chunks are named
and sized exactly the same for instance1 and instance2, but since they are on
the same server, the chunks are linked to two different directories. When I
start the restore, I get a path error to the rootdbs (below).
Physical restore failed - ONCONFIG ROOTPATH: '/COSCSS/rootdbs' differs from
archive: '/CSS/rootdbs'
Correct ONCONFIG before restoring this archive.
Normally, we perform restores/refreshes from one server to a different server
and keep the link directory names the same, so it has not been an issue
previously.
I tried using the -rename -f <filename> method to rename all the chunks from
one directory to the other. The file has all the devices renamed like the line
below.
/CSS/rootdbs 0 /COSCSS/rootdbs 0
.
.
.
However, I still receive the error.
Is this impossible to do or is there a way to get ontape to restore to another
location on the same server?
We are using:
IBM Informix Dynamic Server Version 10.00.FC4 in a Sun Solaris 10 environment.
Thank You for any suggestions.
Cynthia,
For the instance that you are restoring to make the ROOTPATH the same as the
source instance and use the -rename -f {filename}.
