Greetings:
Hyun Ju sent me the information for the archecker table level restore for IDS
version 10 - I'm having a heck of a time getting it to work.
Info:
Using ontape - TAPEDEV is set to STDIO
ac_config looks like this:
AC_MSGPATH /tmp/ac_msg.log # archecker message log
AC_STORAGE /tmp # Directory used for temp storage
AC_VERBOSE 1 # 1 verbose messages 0 terse messages
AC_IXBAR /tmp/ixbar # Path to ixbar file
AC_TAPEBLOCK 32 # Blocksize in KB
AC_TAPEDEV /var/opt/informix2/backups/level_0
I have a successful backup to /var/opt/informix/backups/level_0
My schema.cmd file looks like this:
database atb;create table "informix".seasoncode
(
sea_code char(10),
sea_desc char(20),
sea_begdate date,
sea_enddate date
);
create table "informix".seasoncodenew
(
sea_code char(10),
sea_desc char(20),
sea_begdate date,
sea_enddate date
);
insert into seasoncodenew select * from seasoncode;restore to current with no log;
I run "archecker -bdtvsX -f schema.cmd "
Everything comes back good - Asks for the tape (file really) and then I get
the error
Error(2) opening tape device(/var/opt/informix2/backups/level_0)
Scan FAILED
I've made sure the permissions are wide open on this file as well as the owner
and group are informix:informix
-rwxrwxrwx 1 informix informix 3720216576 Feb 28 12:17
/var/opt/informix2/backup/level_0
Here's what's in /tmp/act_msg.log:
TIME: [2008-02-28 14:33:27] All old validation files removed.
STATUS: Dropping old log control tables
STATUS: Restore only physical image of archive
STATUS: SQL [SET INDEXES, TRIGGERS, CONSTRAINTS FOR seasoncodenew DISABLED]
STATUS: Extracting table atb:seasoncode into atb:seasoncodenew
WARNING: Source table [seasoncode] has no storage option
ERROR: No storage space to scan
ERROR: Error(2) opening tape device(/var/opt/informix2/backups/level_0)
STATUS: Scan FAILED
STATUS: archecker completed Physical Restore pid = 1657 exit code: 3
Any Idea what the scoop is with why it doesn't like the file?
Gloria:
The command line you listed for archecker is confusing. It is
telling archecker to look for both onbar and ontape devices.
-b onbar
-t ontape
WARNING: Source table [seasoncode] has no storage option
ERROR: No storage space to scan
ERROR: Error(2) opening tape device(/var/opt/informix2/backups/level_0)=
When looking at the series of errors you are receiving it first gives a=
n
error saying not storage
spaces are specified. While this is only a warning for ontape, it is =
an
error for onbar that will
cause the process to stop.
I believe if you remove the "b" from your command line you will have mu=
ch
better luck.
I generally run for ontape:
archecker -tdvs -f schema.cmd
