IDS PAM/KRB5 authentication against Windows Active
Posted in 2009
Hi, We are using PAM/KRB5 to authenticate connections to our IDS 10.0 server against our Windows Active Directory. We are using IDS PAM in "simple password" and not "challenge response" mode. IDS is on HPUX 11.32 Itanium and is a 64-bit port. The Windows ODBC and native client drivers are from CSDK 2.90.TC6R1. We have been doing this authentication without problems for the past 2 years using Kerberos against Active Directory on Windows Server 2003 machines. We just upgraded our AD to Windows Server 2008 and now the IDS authentications fail every time. Has anyone who has used Windows Active Directory to authenticate their IDS connections had the authentication break when they upgraded AD from 2003 to 2008? Also, does anyone know of any kind of tool for HPUX that can be used to test PAM with the KRB5 authentication? Thanks in advance, Jim Cramer University of Iowa
