I'd just add that you can't have NewEra and any of the I4GL products co-existing in the same INFORMIXDIR. The programs c4gl, fglpc, fgldb, fglgo, cfgldb, cfglgo are all used by both products, which inevitably leads to problems. Also, at least one error message file has been incompatibly extended by NewEra and I4GL. FYI: the I4GL, I4GL-RDS, I4GL-ID and ISQL products are always ported together as a unit, and while they are being built, they all coexisdt in the same INFORMIXDIR. Similarly, the ESQL/C, OnLine, SE products are ported as a unit and coexist in the same INFORMIXDIR. And the Tools and Servers are supposed to be able to coexist. The only problem is ensuring that the correct error message files are visible. You need the latest version installed last -- hence the TEN (Tools, Engines, Networking) installation order.
