Retrieving large object

Hi guys, I'm using IDS 2000 + Web datablade 4.00.UC1 on a SuSE 6.2 box. I tried to use the example "upload_file.html" to insert and retrieve a binary file into/from a blob. When I want to retrieve the file stored in the blob I click on the file name and make an HTML call like "http://myhost/mydb/myproject/?LO=00932090439049304903&type=application/pdf" the file name that appears on the client browser is not the original file name but is the file type (i.e.: pdf). I'd like to know if is it possible to send to client the original file name or if I can retrieve my blob column from web in another way. TIA Andrea Verni
Try specifying the file before the LO like this: "http://myhost/mydb/myproject/myfile.pdf? LO=00932090439049304903&type=application/pdf" Also, to get mine to work, I had to change it to: "http://myhost/mydb/myproject/myfile.pdf? LO=00932090439049304903&type=application/pdf.pdf" For some reason it didn't work for me unless I put the .pdf at the end. But I noticed that the behavior is different using Netscape or IE. If you're using Netscape you have to pass &type=application.vnd.ms-excel (or omitting "application/" string); if you're using IE you can pass the &type=applicatoin/vnd.ms-execl. This because Netscape thinks ;-) that the file name is "vnd.ms-excel" since the the slash in the type variable is interpreted as part of a path instead of type of an apps. Thanks! Andrea Verni
