dbaccess output
Posted in 1993
I am using Informix SE 5.0 on SCO Unix, Open Desktop 2.0
I am trying to allow users to run dbaccess and send the results to a file which
can then be loaded into a spread sheet with Wingz. I have two problems so far.
First, spaces are used to separate the columns, but Wingz needs TABs to
separate columns. In ORACLE (blah!), I could set what I wanted the column
deilmiters to be, and simply change them to TABs. Can I do this with dbaccess?
Second, when data is selected which is more than 80 characters across, it puts
the columns one on a line, arranging a record vertically. This is acceptable
for screen output, but since I am trying to send it to a file which will then
get loaded into a spread sheet, it is not a nice! I need to be able to tell
dbaccess NOT to do this -- go ahead and use a huge line size or whatever . . .
Does anyone know of any way to get around these problems???
Thanks!
