Mark, Well, first of all, thanks to the wonderful Internet, I had a call at two minutes past nine the following morning. #1000 for the PC software and 10 hours connection time, #370 for additional 10 hour slots. How much?! Didn't get the prices since I was told I needed a support contract before I could use the service at all. I vaguely recall receiving a letter in January from Mr. Medina (MD - Informix UK) with prices for contracts on and was going to look that up. Don't think I'll bother now. I get my dial-up IP level internet connection for #10 UKP plus VAT per month with unlimited use (only the phone call is extra) so I feel the price is exorbitant. Thanks to Jonathan Ma at Pyramid I phoned GE Info. Systems whose service Informix is selling on, but they could not give me price details since Informix are at liberty to sell on the service for whatever they can get. Why did I wan't to use InformixLink in the first place? Because I'd been led to believe thare was all sorts of useful info. on there. I think I'll just stick with comp.databases.informix, it's (virtually) free and the level of technical expertise is excellant (both from end users and a few helpful souls at Informix). I'd willingly pay a reasonable price (you'll notice I have two E-mail addresses, the other one is for a conferencing system which charges, but nothing like as much as that!) I received my invitation this morning, and will be there. Now chaps, on a social matter, my sister is emigrating to Australia that day, and is departing at 10pm. She's got to be there at eight. What do you suppose I'm going to do between end of session and then? Suggestions by E-mail only please. Regards Neil Neil S.
