onstat -g iog

Hi all,
In IDS10.0 , When I type the command onstat -g iog , it is displaying
the output like this:
AIO global Info:
7 aio classes
4 open classes
64 max global files
But my system contains only 2 aio classes( 1 which comes by default and
the other which I have added using onmode -p 1 aio command), then why its
showing 7 aio classes?
Can any one clarify my doubt please?
Thanks and Regards,
Sobha
Hi,
You can see the actual spawned threads with onstat -g iov.
These should reflect the number of processes you have given in onconfig (+
manually added).
AIO classes do not mean AIO processes/threads.

You won't see 2 even though you think you have only 2.
You would see 6 aio classes if you didn't add one dynamically.
I believe some of the threads are using the AIO class of virtual processors
which can be broken down as:
aio because NUMAIOVPS =1 (in your onconfig)
adm (administrative class -- created and run automatically by Online)
msc (handles user licensing, Unix user authentication)
lio (lio and pio are not used unless KAIO not impl.
or llog and phys spaces are cooked)
pio
adt (responsible for running secure auditing threads). If ADTMODE configuration
parameter is set to non-zero then 1 audit VP is started when Online is started.
opt YOU DON'T HAVE THIS ONE
(responsible for xfer BLOB data to a staging area to be read by an optical sub-
system. Optical subsystem is used only if INFORMIX-Online/Optical is
installed.
If the STAGEBLOB parameter in the onconfig has an entry, 1 OPT VP is
allocated.
Try to run: onstat -g sch | egrep -v 'cpu|soc'
If I miss anything, please correct.
Hope this helps.
