You can use the SYSTEM command from Informix-4GL. By Informix-SE do you
mean dbaccess? Then AFAIK, the answer is no. However you can run a shell
script and run operating system commands in the same script as the SQL,
like so:
dbaccess <your_db_name> <your_script.sql>
where your_script.sql looks like:
select * from systables where tabid = 1; -- for example!date -- also for example

Subject: Executing Operating System commands from stored proc
Hi Everyone,
Firstly I wonder if people will tell me if I'm in the wrong ng, as the past
2 posts I've made have been ignored.
Just in case, I'm trying once more.....
Can you use the SYSTEM command in Informix-SE, as I keep getting a syntax
errror....
*ANY* advice would be gratefully appreciated.
Thanks in advance (and hope)
Wicksey
