We are a rapidly growing .com portal with intensive web based transaction processing on the horizon. What would be the pros and cons of going with Free BSD? We are not interested in NT and we don't want to pay for Solaris. Any recommendations? Thanks

Sujit <OT> Did you ever come across a guy named Bill Vogel aka wrv? As to Linux vs FreeBSD.... Linux has the mindshare of the corporate world. It will push FreeBSD off to the side. (Everyone has jumped on the Linux bandwagon which makes it a better choice for an Open source platform. ) Think of all the goodies that SUN and SGI are going to add. -Mikey Sujit.Pal@BankAmerica.com wrote: > Linux. > > Sujit > > Todd Boewe <tboewe@lioninc.com> on 05/17/99 10:25:10 AM > > Please respond to Todd Boewe <tboewe@lioninc.com> > > To: informix-list@iiug.org > cc: (bcc: Sujit Pal) > Subject: Free BSD > > We are looking at migrating our databases to Informix.
