Hi all, Question about SHM Parameter, I have set this kernel.shmmni = 4096 kernel.shmall = 3100000 kernel.shmmax = 1200000000 kernel.shm-use-bigpages = 0 shmmni max number of shm segments maximal shmall max shm mem available in whole system, is it in KB or bytes or what? shmmax max size of one shm seg in bytes Is my opinion correct? Thanks Sven
Hi all, What is the memory page size for System V ipc on linux kernel 2.4.20? How much shared memory I am able to use with one Inormix Instance on Linux kernel 2.4.20? Thanks Sven -----Ursprüngliche Nachricht----- Von: Schuran, Sven Gesendet: Freitag, 27. Hi all,
I have got it!
For a Linux 2.4.20 64GB kernel and glibc 2.2.5
and Informix 9.40 UC1
and 4 GB main memory on an i386
You have to set the mapped_base address of the shell you are starting oninit!
echo $$
output is "pidofshell"
su - root
echo 268435456 > /proc/"pidofshell"/mapped_base # is SHM Address 0x1000000L
exit
And set the onconfig
SHMBASE 0x12000000L
Now I am able to use up to 3GB shared memory!
But you have to edit the profile for informix and other user using onstat etc.
Here you have to set the mapped_base address too, this must be done as root,
so you have to use sudo!
cu Sven
