I am currently running INFORMIX 7.1 on an AT&T GIS 3555 with a RAID 5 configuration of 250 GB disk space. The system runs extremely well and I get tremendous thruput in comparision to INFORMIX 6.0. The main factor in this is the use of the DS capabiliy in 7.1. Although my disk writes are slower than I would like (due to RAID 5), the added comfort of using a RAID 5 more than makes up for this. About the only thing I can't really take advantage of in 7.1 is the table paritioning due to the fact that my data is already striped via RAID 5. I can howver, seperate my data and index spaces and get some more preformance thru that.
