RE: Informix on DOS?
Posted in 2004
There are a number of Informix products that work(have worked) on PCs. In the days of version 2.1 of ISQL, 1.1 of 4GL there were Informix SQL and 4GL products and standard engine for DOS. But coming back to this Millennium there are two 4GL compilers that work on MS-Windows. These are the 4Js compiler, and the Querix compiler. There are also Windows versions of IDS available. A friend of mine came over last week and he told me that they were also using informix in their office and running on DOS? I am quite new to informix and have never heard of an Informix product running on dos but he told me that their programmers compile and run informix programs under dos. Can someone tell me what product this is? I've tried searching www.informix.com but I can't find it there so I'm guessing this is an old product maybe. Anyone here know where I can get a copy of this? I frequently do overnighters in the office to keep up with our deadlines and having this at home maybe I can take most of my work and do them on weekends. I would greatly appreciate it.
