Veritas & OnBar Question : Moving Instances from one machine to

Hi There,
I hope you can help .. I have a couple of questions .
I have just installed Veritas Storage Manager V 3.2 and have started using
Onbar.
It's all working fine and I am quite happy with it. We backup all file systems
using Veritas
and now it's time for the Databases to be done using this
I would like to know however, how it is possible to recover a Level 0 Archive
made on
machine with onbar x to machine Y. Both machines are set up to use veritas for
Informix backups
of course
I know how to do this with ontape and do it all the time to refresh UAT
systems...
so all the right chunks of the right sizes and sqlhosts & services are all ok.
But
with Onbar I cannot find out how to do this.
Also, if I have 6 backups on Veritas and do not want to go back to the last
backup
but the third previous one how do I tell onbar to do this ? I have looked
into the
Doc as but am either blind and cannot see it or it's not there.
If anyone can help me it would be very much appreciated.

Copy $INFORMIXDIR+anything in /usr/lib which it linked to it.
Under the correct enivorment do
onbar -r -w
Note the hostname must be the same on the machine you are restoring
to! Also the tape device names may need to be the same.

As far as going back to previous backups, the trick is to edit the ixbar.0
file in the $INFORMIXDIR/etc directory. Identify the date of the backup you
wish to use and remove any backups after that one mentioned in the file.
Leave the log entries and OnBar will read the log files and restore you to
current.
At least, that works with OnBar/ADSM, and it is an OnBar solution, so should
work with any storage manager.
