Actually, I would prefer you not to use 'informix' as the owner of user-defined tables, but systematically owned tables are usually easier to manage than randomly owned tables. > I'm looking for a (or more) SQL request(s) which can directly modifiy owners > in the database. I can't believe that INFORMIX doesn't have previewed this > function. The request has been made in the past - you aren't the first - but there isn't a solution at the moment other than the aforementioned "rebuild your database". Note that a 'chown table' command has some very intriguing sub-plots. What happens to all the permissions granted by the original owner? Who is the new grantor? And what about the views built on top of the table, or synonyms that referenced the table, or stored procedures that contained the name of the table, or the triggers on the table, and so on. It isn't just a case of updating systables.owner - there is a lot more to it than that. -- Jonathan Leffler #include <disclaimer.h> Email: jleffler@earthlink.net, jleffler@us.ibm.com Guardian of DBD::Informix v2003.04 -- http://dbi.perl.org/
