You will most likely need to beg & plead with CR to change their program. The report writer I use (IQ Objects) told me it *should* work by tweaking the ODBC data source, but no luck. -----Original Message----- From: Nick Kataria [mailto:kataria.nick@emeryworld.com] Sent: Wednesday, February 09, 2000 12:24 PM To: informix-list@iiug.org Subject: ISOLATION & ODBC Hi, Is there any way to change the default isolation mode of an ODBC session by changing C:/Informix/headers or any file? My Crystal Reports run under Committed Read Mode. I want to change it to Dirty Read. Thanks, Nick.
1) create a procedure in which you set the isolation to dirty read and return
an empty string
create procedure dirty_read() returning char(1);
set isolation to dirty read; return "";
end procedure;
2) create a view on top of this
create view dirty_read(some_output)
as
select dirty_read() from systables where tabid = 1
3) make a subreport in which you select from the view
