RE: informix and (java) application

You silly boy! The issue isn't a java issue, but an issue of getting Informix to invoke a java application. I believe that you can make a system() call from a stored procedure? If so, then Informix can do what he wants. From: jgp@jgp.net To: informix-list@iiug.org Subject: RE: informix and (java) application Date: Thu, 24 Jan 2008 12:53:29 +0100 The short answer is YES. Java can do anything, Informix can store anything, perfect combination ;-)… I just love it and now available on the apple! Going from memory, but can't the engine make a system call? Trigger invokes a stored procedure that execs a system() command that contains the java invocation.... As Carsten said, this may not be what the OP wants to do... > Subject: Re: informix and (java) application > From: carsten@uniqsys.com > To: informix-list@iiug.org > Date: Wed, 23 Jan 2008 10:15:13 -0500 > > On Wed, 2008-01-23 at 07:04 -0800, tomcaml@gmail.com wrote: > > hi all > > > > > > can informix call/invoke an application - or a java application - and > > have it fire it off? > > That's a vague question that can only be given a vague answer: Probably. > Please feel free to be more specific. > > -- > Carsten Haese > http://informixdb.sourceforge.net > > > _______________________________________________ > Informix-list mailing list > Informix-list@iiug.org > http://www.iiug.org/mailman/listinfo/informix-list Helping your favorite cause is as easy as instant messaging.
