Hi All, Recently, I install the INFORMIX on a LINUX machine. All users login to the server through terminal emulation software on their win95/winNT machine. I wrote a small C program. It sends reports to users local attached (slave) dot matrix printers. But I do not know how to set the printer to print 17 characters per inch by the program, instead of reset the printer. The default mode is 10 characters per inch. Any comments are welcome. Thanks in advance Tony Zhou zhout@tooele-emh3.army.mil
You will need to reference the printer manuals, and see the control codes which turn on the 17 char inch. Hopefully you have the same printers, otherwise you will have to know which printer is being used, and set up some sort of table. Anyway right before you start printing just embed the correct codes. It will usually be the ESC char (027) and some more codes. It is best to reset also. For example hex 1b 40 dec 027 064 This I think will reset like a OKI 192 printer.
