Some of the work-arounds I have seen are: 1) write a SQL script to do that, and maintain a database of users and their respective group. Kinda troublesome, but rather flexible, usually part of a bigger system, say accounting, .... 2) a shell script that looks at the /etc/group file, and grants priviledges accordingly. The shelll script is found in an article in a back issue of Informix Tech Notes, for '93 I think, or could be '92. (PS. Is it in the FAQ??) =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Calvin Ng email: <calvinng@technet.sg> --------------------------------------------------------------------------- [DISCLAIMER] Read at your own risks.
