INet testing

I recently got a copy of Inet 5.00 for my Informix SE server on an AIX RS/6000. I also have INet for windows (and ESQL/C) 5.xx I am getting error -932 which doesn't give much info - it is just a network problem. - no explanation of where it is... I am using Microsoft VxD winsock.dll I had to add in tcp and udp lines in my PC's /windows/services file to stop it complaining - but I picked the port number at random - I have no idea what it is supposed to be. The INet software on the server was installed using the "installnet" script - but I don't know what else to do with it... It doesn't seem registered with the portmapper - if I do "rpcinfo -p unixmachine" I get various registered programs - but nothing that looks like informix. Help! How do I test/troubleshoot this link?
