Gary,
Read up on cron commands. man cron from the command line should give you
the basics.
You will want to write a shell script (either ksh or bsh or sh depending on
Unix variant and preferences)
which can be slightly different based on which SHELL you are running. Also
remember to 'append' your
shell output to a log file so you can review the output the next day.
If you are a true neophyte start with a simple shell script echoing 'hello
world' to your log file so you can
see how the mechanics work. Also make certain to test your shell script and
dbaccess command during the day when you are there rather than just running
it for the first time during the middle of the night when you can incur the
wrath of a ticked off system administrator.
Any other questions let me know. If you are just learning about shell
scripting check out the Reilly Books (the ones with the furry creatures on
the covers) - a great reference source.
