Here is the case: We have production system and a training system. Training system has data that comes from restore of production system level 0 backup. Last week our training system disk crashed. We put a new disk. Informix had to be initialized and so all the dbspaces. Training box has exactly same dbspaces, # of chunks, links etc. Should training box need to have exactly same size dbspaces, chunks as production in order to restore from 0 level backup of production. Or Could I manage with production's used space as size in creating dbspaces, chunks in trainig box. Thanks Vivek
In order to restore all chunk paths on the target system (ie your training system) must be identical and each must be AT LEAST AS LARGE as the corresponding chunk on the source (your production) system. You cannot get away with providing only enough space to hold the used pages, no. Art S. Kagel vivek.chaudhary@st.com wrote: > Here is the case: > > We have production system and a training system.
