DOS16M Error.
Posted in 1992
TO: MICHAEL KUHN Michael, DOS/16M refers to an MD-DOS memory manager and according to my information for your IBM-PS2 the DOS16M variable should be set to "2" for the PS2 Model 50 or 60, and "3" for the Model 70 or 80. Look in your "autoexec.bat" file for the line "set dos16m=2" or "set dos16m=3". If the line is not present for your machine add the proper line for your model or correct an existing line for your model. If this is now correct then the only other error I have found with this type of system error was found in the "Ace Report Writer". The "filename.ace" compiles correctly into the "filename.arc", the error occurs when the report is executed and attempts to allocate memory space according to the code in your select statement. Something goes wrong when the output of the report tries to use the memory space and in effect crashes. Try rewritting your code in the select statement, commenting out your original statements for future reference, make your new select statements short and simple. When this clears up your original error then you can begin to tailor your statements to your exact needs knowing that the simple code will infact work error free. Hope this info will help. Michael S.
