4.0->4.1

Just ran into an interesting problem. My INFORMIXDIR is set to 4.1. I just did a make. Now make only builds the objects that are out of date. So the execustable is just compiled came back with an unsatisfied symbol 'bottommargin (code)'. Puzzled me for a minute and just to be sure I reset INFORMIXDIR back to 4.0 - suddenly I get /bin/ld: Unsatisfied symbols: _efiwopen (code) _anyerr (data) _efmeninit (code) Of course I panic - I've got a demo in 20 minutes!!! Then I realised that make was playing with my mind. The .o objects I had compiled the first time with 4.1 were still out there and were trying to be included in my current 4.0 compile. So I went out and shot the .o's built with 4.1 and sure enough - everything is kopasetic. The moral? Don't link 4.0 and 4.1 objects together.
