Your INFORMIXDIR is set to /informix , and I am assuming you are using a
COOKED file
so, I can think of two things.
1) devices is another directory ? , if this is true, you must specify
here the file
under devices which you want to be the root dbspace.
2) devices is an empty file that you created with touch devices.
3) Verify the permissions on file, chmod 660 and owner and group
informix, also check
that your filesystem has enough space.
I think setp No. 1 will be your problem, and you must specify the file
name NOT the
PATH name.
PS. Why you have rootdbs so large?
