Re: Log. Log Backup: How full is tape?

You can note the logi-log number (unique, not rotating) when you start the backup. Then take the size of your logical logs (X 2 since you probably have 2K pages), and divide your tape capacity (estimated conservatively with comression or native to be safe) by the size of a single logical log. That is the number of logical logs you can put on a tape before it fills up. So then, you can compare the current logical log number with the one you noted when you first started your backup, and see how far along the tape you are. [or you can just change them every couple days or after each archive] Rob. > Richard Spitz wrote: > > > > Dear Informix experts, > > > > in our Online 5.07UC1 system, we have continuous backup of logical > > logs turned on.
