Hello, i need ids 7.3 linux for upgrading tests. Anyone can help me ? i dont find this old software . Thanks.
It would be illegal to provide the software even if we had it... Customers should keep a copy of the software... If you have a maintenance contract with IBM I'd suggest opening a PMR explaining the purpose... I would think the tech support guys should have a way to get it and provide it to entitled customers On Mon, Jan 19, 2015 at 3:12 PM, SERGIO TORRES <el_piltras@hotmail.com> wrote: > Hello, i need ids 7.3 linux for upgrading tests. > Anyone can help me ? i dont find this old software . > Thanks. > > > > ******************************************************************************* > Forum Note: Use "Reply" to post a response in the discussion forum. > > -- Fernando Nunes Portugal http://informix-technology.blogspot.com My email works... but I don't check it frequently... --001a113cb03666861d050d02f002
Sergio, If you have the product installed somewhere, and I believe you do if you're planning an upgrade, you can use a simple INFORMIXDIR filesystem copy. I tried that before and it worked fine for me in the past. Hi Sergio, Try this: simply add user/group for informix, tar the INFORMIX directory and unpack on target machine. As far as I remember, there was a script run_as_root.sh which is setting the correct links to make it work. Then add the devices (using files or symbolic links) and restore the instance from original machine. At this stage, you should be ready to try the upgrade process. Hope this helps. I do not think IBM would mutter about a temporary instance with IDS7.3 for license reasons ... Make sure the setuid bits are kept. Regarding V7.3 I really don't remember, but for current versions IBM accepts the use of extra software installations for migration test purposes. Please check the license terms if this matters for you. There is a length of time that is accepted. Basically this is common sense. Regards.
