ICL TeamServer Problems - "Too many or too few host variables"

This problem has just occured recently when one of our customers upgraded to a Pentium/EISA based ICL TeamServer. Programs written for the 4GE environment that used to work fine started behaving weirdly. A typical example would be a "incorrect number of host variables" message for a cursor prepared and opened with 3 variables. The code looks something like this : ------------------------------- 8< -------------------------------------- let scratch = "select * from XXX ", "where A = ? and B = ? and C = ?" prepare test_prep from scratch declare test_curs cursor for test_prep open xxx_curs open yyy_curs open test_curs using param_rec.a, param_rec.b, param_rec.c foreach test_curs into xxx.* ... ... ... end foreach close test_curs close yyy_curs close xxx_curs ------------------------------- 8< -------------------------------------- This gives us a "incorrect number of host variables"!!! It's not THAT complicated. we think that it's something to do with ICL UNIX/Informix SE/Combo of both - any comments?????? Detail follows... ICL TeamServer (Pentium/EISA) ICL UNIX SVR4.2 (7.4.5) Informix SE V5.02.UC2 Informix 4GL, 4GL Runtime, SQL, SQL Runtime V4.12.UE1 C Optimizing (CCS) Compilation System V2.0 (07/14/93) *ANY* help or pointers will get a virtual pint (or seven) :) Replies by EMail please, 'cause I sometimes skipp bits of my UseNet feed.. // tbone@cix.compulink.co.uk PS. The report in question works OK on our Altos box running SCO, so we're sure it's not our fault [point, point...] :>
