I am investigating using an optical storage device to archive my Informix OnLine database. The database is currently about 2 gig. Has anyone had any experience using optical drives to archive an Informix db? I would like to mount drives as raw space, and have an acutal archive db residing on the optical platter(s). What hardware are you using? Any special drivers needed? Worm/Re-writable? What is the Informix OnLine Optical product all about? We are running under ULTRIX 4.3A on the Mips platform.
