Believe me, we're > very serious about solving this problem. > Greg - I did not mean you are not serious about this problem. I meant performance tuning in general. We had serious performance problem in the past. After we installed SymBEL and followed the suggested settings, the execution time of one of the stored procedure was reduced from 12 hours to 10 minutes on Sparc 2000E. We also had a stored procedure that issued serveral SYSTEM commands in a loop. We then combined those SYSTEM commands into a single one. That made a big difference. Currently, we are working on the performance tuning for another stored procedure to cope with the notorious NFS performance problem. How about the INET version number? We had problem with INET 5.X.WF2 and switched back to WF1 because memory leakage problem. But the leakage problem still exist. WH revision supposes to fix the problem, but it has not been released (I believe). There is another INET problem that may disconnect your application, but it should have nothing to do with your problem. Anyway, I will be glad to know your solution to the problem. > > p.s. if you've had specific problems unique to FDDI, i'd be interested in the specifics... I don't have any specific problem with FDDI. It is just a general comment on FDDI, since FDDI's bandwidth is fixed. Chao
