Failed to find passwd information for userid "3200".

We have upgraded AIX Maintenance level to ML10. After this we are not able to start the database on Production system. When i give the oninit command it say "Failed to find passwd information for userid "3200". where 3200 is informix user id. and when we give "onmonitor" to start the database it says that "shared memory not initialized for INFORMIXSERVER 'bramhacd1shm' ". we have not modified any user informix on system. Can You tell me why this error is coming ? Before ML10 upgradation, everything was running properly. We had successfully upgraded on Quality system We have sap40b as application , informix 7.31FD2X1, and AIX 4.3 ML 10. Pls give ur valuablke suggestion immed. as my prod is down. we have reverted back the AIX maintenance level ML10 to original one (ML02). Now I am able to start the database and sap. I think this is the bug in the AIX ML10. Hi Ravi, Can you just try a C program using the getpwnam() or getspnam() -- depending on the way the OS is set up .. using the "informix" ID and see if it returns correctly or not ... There was a bug found in AIX 4.3.3 (ML08) where there was a memory leak in the gethostbyaddr() system call. Once, the MSC VP reached the 256MB limit all the users would start getting -951 and -952 errors ... (Bug# 151445 , AIX APARs IY22194 IY21569 IY20860 ). This was fixed in ML10 release of AIX. I don't think you hit this problem, but you can just check using the C program and see what's the error returned in that, since within the engine (MSC VP) we actually use the same calls to get to the password of the userid.
