Hello! Coming from Informix 4GL 4 and 5, now I am trying to evaluate INFORMIX Dynamic 4GL Version 3.00.UC1 but I am having some problems: Platform: SCO OpenServer 5.0.5 Informix-4GL (RDS) 7.20.UD7 Informix-SE 7.23.UC13 1) I have a file in $INFORMIXDIR/incl named colornames and the content is: alta 1 baja 0 I use alta and baja as attributes in displays, input, etc. for example: when 11 case _ven when 1 open window gesart_v1 at _linven,_colven with form "gesart1" attribute (border, baja) | A grammatical error has been found at 'baja' expecting: BORDER COMMENT ERROR L EFT MENU MESSAGE ... | See error number -6609. Now I have a syntax error with the fgl2p compiler. I would like to know if there is a file to assign the synonym with d4gl environment too or do I have to change all the references in the 4gl sources? 2) I apparently have generated a customized runner with the following script: OBJETOS="/i/C/afix7/arboles.o \\ /i/C/afix7/bloqueos.o \\ /i/C/afix7/depurar.o \\ /i/C/afix7/espacio.o \\ /i/C/afix7/fgiusr.o \\ /i/C/afix7/ficsec.o \\ /i/C/afix7/obsoletas.o \\ /i/C/afix7/pila.o \\ /i/C/afix7/varias.o" fglmkrun -o fglnuevo2 $OBJETOS lib/fglExt.c -d ix720 -gls The runner was successfully linked with the following options: Runner name : fglnuevo2 Language support library : GLS Compiler : esql Additional flags/libs : None Informix dir : /e/informix7 Database interface : ix720 (/e/fgl2c/lib/libix720.a) User extensions : Yes /i/C/afix7/arboles.o /i/C/afix7/bloqueos.o /i/C/afix7/depurar.o /i/C/afix7/espacio.o /i/C/afix7/fgiusr.o /i/C/afix7/ficsec.o /i/C/afix7/obsoletas.o /i/C/afix7/pila.o /i/C/afix7/varias.o lib/fglExt.c but when I use it with 4gl sources that call the C functions I have the messages: The function "c_abresec" has not been defined in any module in the program. ... What am i doing wrong? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance --- Evelio Martinez

This uses the colornames files in I4GL, one of the more obscure features unknown to mankind. I wasn't aware that anyone used it until you came forward with this problem. To work with current D4GL, you must modify the source code. If you have Classic 4GL 7.30, you can use: --@ attribute (border, baja) --# attribute (border, yellow) The Classic 4GL compiler (7.3 only) will see the original; the Dynamic 4GL compiler will see the revision. Note that if you have an earlier (pre-7.3) version of Classic 4GL, then the compiler will see neither attribute clause; both will look like comments. I doubt if D4GL will be upgraded to use the colornames file, but we can ask for it. > > 2) I apparently have generated a customized runner with the following > script: > OBJETOS="/i/C/afix7/arboles.o \\ > /i/C/afix7/bloqueos.o \\ > /i/C/afix7/depurar.o \\ > /i/C/afix7/espacio.o \\ > /i/C/afix7/fgiusr.o \\ > /i/C/afix7/ficsec.o \\ > /i/C/afix7/obsoletas.o \\ > /i/C/afix7/pila.o \\ > /i/C/afix7/varias.o" > > fglmkrun -o fglnuevo2 $OBJETOS lib/fglExt.c -d ix720 -gls > > The runner was successfully linked with the following options: > Runner name : fglnuevo2 > Language support library : GLS > Compiler : esql > Additional flags/libs : None > Informix dir : /e/informix7 > Database interface : ix720 (/e/fgl2c/lib/libix720.a) > User extensions : Yes > /i/C/afix7/arboles.o > /i/C/afix7/bloqueos.o > /i/C/afix7/depurar.o > /i/C/afix7/espacio.o > /i/C/afix7/fgiusr.o > /i/C/afix7/ficsec.o > /i/C/afix7/obsoletas.o > /i/C/afix7/pila.o > /i/C/afix7/varias.o > lib/fglExt.c > > but when I use it with 4gl sources that call the C functions I have > the messages: > > The function "c_abresec" has not been defined in any module in > the program. > ... > > What am i doing wrong? Apparently, you've not coded the entry for c_abresec in fglExt.h, or you are calling it inconsistently in your code (eg sometimes looking for a return value, and sometimes ignoring it). -- Jonathan Leffler (jleffler@informix.com, jleffler@earthlink.net) Guardian of DBD::Informix v1.00.PC1 -- see http://www.perl.com/CPAN #include <disclaimer.h>
