Informix Log Tunning and ohter..

Informix Guru- I have couple question about log files, log sizes and database layout: 1) I have approx. 6 GB of database ( 2-3 GB of data inside ), how many log files would be appropriate and what size. Informix manual says: Total log size should equal to 20% of all dbspace dedicated to online and ratio of logical log space to physical log space would be 3:1. In my case it would be Total log space = 1.2 GB Logical log space = 0.9 GB and Physical log space = 0.3 GB Is above figure look all right. Currently I have 30 MB physical log and 220 MB logical log ( 10 MB per log with 22 log ). Should I increase the size of logs as per recommended. We do not have any problem with log get full during routine transaction, the only time we had problem when we issue alter table on big table. 2) We are using RAID 0+1 level for database. We have total 10 dbspace allocated to online. Is it wise to have 5-6 bigger dbspace instead of 10 small one ? Informix engine: 5.04 online O.S. = Unix 2.4 Hardware = Sun's SS1000 Thanks in advance.
