Best Linux distro for Cheetah (and also the older

Hi, We are planning to squeeze our Cheetah on Windows for a set of virtual systems on Linux. The core system is running Ubuntu and all the virtualized systems will be Linux's. It works fine, I have installed Cheetah on the Ubuntu box and here starts problems. DB-Access complains about terminal. We cannot connect to the server with Java (there is no firewall). So after all, I wonder if Ubuntu is a great distro for Cheetah. What would you recommend? What are you guys using? Thanks Jgp (sorry for cross posts but to get those kind of info on week-ends. ;-) )
Hi Jean Georges,
We are not end-user, but we are using java sql client(s) (e.g. aqua studio)
and we are happy (even
if you have firewall and ssh access - you can tunnel connection).
For dbaccess, you have to set TERMCAP env variable:
export TERMCAP=$INFORMIXDIR/etc/termcap
Of course, you have to set TERM env variable to appropriate value (in my
case of gui x installation)
export TERM=xterm
IMHO Ubuntu is very promising platform.

dbaccess should work if you assign TERMCAP to $INFORMIXDIR/etc/termcap
What you mean about not connecting with java ? I can easily.
