Hi experts,
we have got a weird situation here.
For some reason some time in the past somebody accidentally initiated a bts datablade installation in a database.
Since this was not used anywhere, it did not cause any issues.
On upgrade of the server to IDS14.10, an error was thrown when the upgrade mechanism tried to upgrade
the datablade, which was not successful.
We tried to remove all of the datablade stuff
manually and t
he upgrade was done despite of the problematic datablade.
This was mainly successful, but there are two relicts:
create secondary access_method "informix".bts
(
am_create = )!^?,
am_drop = )!^?,
am_open = )!^?,
am_close = )!^?,
am_insert = )!^?,
am_delete = )!^?,
am_update = )!^?,
am_stats = )!^?,
am_scancost = )!^?,
am_check = )!^?,
am_beginscan = )!^?,
am_endscan = )!^?,
am_rescan = )!^?,
am_getnext = )!^?,
am_truncate = )!^?
);
create primary access_method "informix".bts_info
(
am_sptype = 'x',
am_create = )!^?,
am_drop = )!^?,
am_open = )!^?,
am_close = )!^?,
am_scancost = )!^?,
am_beginscan = )!^?,
am_endscan = )!^?,
am_getnext = )!^?
);
The reason for this stuff is unknown to us and we just want to remove the access method, because the dbexport
is not good to be automatically restored without errors when this code is in the sql file.
The fragments seem to be in UTF-8 encoding, but the database has ISO-8859-15 encoding.
According to the documentation, the following should work:
drop access_method bts restrict;
This results in error 9867 -> Access method (bts) not found
So is there a trick how to drop this relicts ?
Or would it be a call to tech support to handle this ?
Thank you for your input.

If you can dbexport/myexport the dbimport/myimport the database, just do the export then edit the .sql file to remove the references to the access method drop and reload the database using the modified .sql file.
If no, yes, I would create a PMR and have support patch it up.
