dbload alternatives

We are trying to get to a true client/server setup with our Informix
environment. This means moving all the 4gl apps off the db engine server to
their own machine.
The only hurdle I'm running into is dbload. Our app currently is leveraging
dbload to deal with fixed length data files and doing some data checking
without wholesale rejection like load does.
Unfortunately, dbload appears to only come with the engine.
Anybody dealt with this or have an option/alternaive?
Download Jonathan Leffler's SQLCMD package from the IIUG Software
Repository. One of the utilities in that package, sqlreload, can handle
fixed record format files and it will perform partial commits just like
dbload does.

An alternative is to write a load program to perform that task. ESQL/C is an
excellent tool for that purpose.
