is any tool in informix ver 5 (aix) to store into file all queries which execute user?

We try to ensure that our users execute queries, rather than having queries executing users -- it keeps the user population happier. That's not to say that some users wouldn't be easier to manage if they were executed instead of their queries... :-) Teasing apart (my Polish is non-existent), I think the answer is "No", with caveats. (1) You could try SET EXPLAIN ON, but that relies on each program actually using it. (2) Given that you are using 5.x, I do have a program, sqlmonitor, which can be used as a surrogate for sqlturbo (or sqlexec) which logs all the information travelling back and forth between the application and the engine. You would not use it if performance is an issue, but it does log all the communications. I'm not sure whether the code is in the IIUG archives. If you are sure it is not there, then let me know and I'll get it posted (to you and the IIUG). This still relies on the correct setup. -- Jonathan Leffler (jleffler@informix.com, jleffler@earthlink.net) Guardian of DBD::Informix v0.60 -- see http://www.perl.com/CPAN #include <disclaimer.h>
If Informix version 5 uses the same connectivity as IDS 7.X, then the Zero Impact Sql Monitor will capture all SQL queries with their performance. The Zero Impact Service Level Monitor will also report the service levels by user (average end user response time, average database server response time, etc.) Refer to www.sqlpower.com.
