Hey, I'm new to Informix and I've a problem. I have an old INFORMIX-SE 7.2 server on SCO-UNIX 5 (and I don't want to upgrade it) and I try to connect my Windows boxes to it via ODBC. The latest ODBC driver only accept, for tcp/ip protocols, protocols like sesoctcp but if I put sesoctcp in my sqlhosts file, my server don't want to run. I could only use setlitcp of the unnamed pipes on the server. But setlitcp isn't good for the ODBC driver... Where am I wrong ??? Many thanks in advance for your answers. David
THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE AT THE NETWORK LEVEL BETWEEN setlitcp and sesoctcp it is only a difference in the library API used in the source code. Use setlitcp on the server and sesoctcp on the clients. That combination works just fine. Art S.
