But I'm a frim believer in table partitioning and using as many DBspaces as reasonable. I just completed a consulting assignment to one of your customers to review thier database table structure and re-partition it from one DBspace into several Dbspaces. This was to resolve to issuses one being performance and the other to make it maintainable. >Currently the database has about 150 million rows and is growing. Table partitioning should make DB maintenance much easier. I don't know your application but if you are growing rapidly when DBspaces is the only way to manage your space requirements. >An input on the trade offs of using fragmentation or not will be appreciated. > >Bob >Informix version 7.10 Clyde
