You still need TERMINFO for vi and O/S stuff (and 90% of everything else you buy!), but Informix still sticks to TERMCAP. I think it's something to do with the fact that it's been around so long and most Informix people feel comfortable with it! :-) There is an environment variable that you can set that will make Informix use TERMINFO, but I've never heard of anyone actually doing it, so you may be haeding off into unexplored territory.
