Re: DB EXPORT from UNIX to NT Box
Posted in 1999
Hello,
Run dbexport to disk (just as dbexport dbname) then run the cpio or tar
to save the export to tape:
tar cvf /dev/your_tape_device dbname.exp
OR
find dbname.exp -depth -print | cpio -ocvmB > /dev/your_tape_device
To restore the archive from the tape (well, I don't know how
to do this in NT, but supposing the options are simmilar with the UNIX
ones):
tar xvf your_NT_tape_device_name
OR
cpio -icvdumB -I your_NT_tape_device_name
Alternatively you can use the dbexport feature for saving data
directly to tape:
dbexport dbname -t your_tape_device_name
AND
dbimport dbname -t your_NT_tape_device_name
Hope this helps,
Octav
