Configuring HDR

We have a primary and secondary setup in PROD that I am trying to mimic in dev with version 11.5 I watched Lesters webinar, and he mentions the use of an rhost file. On other searches, I see some people use hosts.equiv file When I look for both of these in our PROD environment, I can't find either of them. Is there another way the two servers could be letting each other connect? I'm wondering if I actually need this step to let server A send its logs over to server B to complete the replication.
You can either put the entries in - /etc/hosts.equiv - a file called .rhosts in user informix's home directory. The .rhosts file needs to be secured by being owner/group informix and chmod 600. I did an example HADR setup in http://smooth1.co.uk/installs/dbinstalls.html#6.1.2 Regards, David. > On 25 April 2017 at 13:42 BENJI LONG <ruggedmouse@hotmail.com> wrote: > > > We have a primary and secondary setup in PROD that I am trying to mimic in dev > with version 11.5 > > I watched Lesters webinar, and he mentions the use of an rhost file. Thanks David, I will take a look at your example. I can't find those files on our PROD environment. I'm not that great on Linux, so maybe they are hidden from me or something.
Hi, You would have to create one of the files, they may well not exist on your system. For 11.5 version I would go with a .rhosts file in user informix's home directory. If instead you create /etc/hosts.equiv that would need UNIX system adminstrator permissions (root) to create it. NOTE: For Informix 11.7 and 12.1 you can set onconfig parameter REMOTE_SERVER_CFG to the name of a file in $INFORMIXDIR/etc which contains the same information. The IBM recommended name for this file changed in 12.1 to authfile.$INFORMIXSERVER - https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSGU8G_12.1.0/com.ibm.adref.doc/i ds_adr_1123.htm Regards, David. > On 25 April 2017 at 14:12 BENJI LONG <ruggedmouse@hotmail.com> wrote: > > > Thanks David, I will take a look at your example. > I can't find those files on our PROD environment.
