Our customer (not the "How long is a piece of string" one!) has order two v890s, one in London and one in Sydney. The Sydney one arrived first and the local Solaris experts installed Solaris 1/06 and applied the latest patches. The London one, which I'm responsible for, has arrived with Solaris 3/05 preinstalled. I was going to patch it up to the latest patch bundle. However, the Oz people have suggested that we completely re-intsall with Solaris 1/06 then apply the latest patches. Would the effect be any different ...? cheers -- Neil

Base plus LOADS of patches vs Later Base plus LESS patches Given the choice I would go for the recommendation - check your disk I/O rates as well :O
It depends, what was installed on each server. The OEM might have changed so you might have new packages etc Cheers Paul Paul Watson Tel: +44 1414161772 Mob: +44 7818003457 GO FURTHER with DB2 GET THERE FASTER with Informix. "Would the effect be any different ...? " Yes... additional packages do NOT appear in patches... I would reinstall with the same they have...
