Hello everyone! I have a question that I hope can be answered by someone on this group. Recently an office that I depend on for information upgraded it's Informix software to Informix Online 4.0. In an effort to keep up with that change my office is going to upgrade to the same packeage. It was recomended to me that I use some of the other software available from Informix in order to maintain my databases rather than use an embeded C/C++ SQL Language. I was given a list of the different flavors of Informix by our retailer and am wondering what the differences and similarities are. It will be run on a POSIX conformant Unix box. The list includes the follow : SQL, 4GL, 4GL Compiler, 4GL ID, 4GL RDS. In addition to that I am aware of the later versions of Informix. Which ones of those packages would be better for me to use and what are the similarities and differences. The main concern is remaining compatible with the other office. I appreciate any help I may be able to get. The files currently are in the range of 4 - 5 meg in size.
