backup slow -level zero

I have a 18 GIG database and Its taking more than 2.5 hrs to do a level
zero backup.I am using a 12GIG DDS tape drive on an HP9000 HP-UX 11.0.
What configuration can I do to speed up the backup.
My config file is as follows.

Yes, seems a bit slow. I think we get about 14GBytes/hour to DLTs. Your
TAPESIZE seems big. Tests I did showed 32k or 64k is optimal. You've got
6M.
