Hello Friends I need help with the following problem: I have a IDS engine hang on Linux platform. I would need to block the access to the databases (bbdd) via ODBC for some users. These users have access for writing, erasing, update information, etc in the databases (bbdd) because they normal use these operations, but the problem is that if they are connected via ODBC they can also perform other functions with the tables thus producing a security problem. I would appreciate any suggestion you can give me. Thanks
This may be silly but why don't you just grant the permissions the user are really authorized to do and revoke all the others. You also can implement roles with them, on your application you can set a role which allow them to update, insert, delete but their default role might only allow them select only.
